We welcome students here at Winchester Baptist Church each September with a student lunch where you can meet some of our Host Families. We’ll then link you up with your own host family who will, throughout your time studying here, invite you round to feed you, care for you and get to know you while you’re studying here in Winchester. Come along to one of our services on a Sunday and speak to one of the staff or leadership team who will link you up with your very own host family – a home from home!
We encourage students to join one of our small groups for discipleship, fellowship and support. We also have many opportunities to get involved in the life of Winchester Baptist Church. This could be anything from serving on one of our children’s, young people’s or senior’s work teams, to playing in one of our worship bands or even volunteering in the office. Equally we love to support our students in the work they do in their Christian Union’s and local communities and we have links with both the Winchester School of Art and the University of Winchester CU’s.
Testimony from Hannah Routledge
Having just graduated from Winchester University I have found myself looking back on the many memories I made while studying. The time I spent worshiping at Winchester Baptist has changed my life and grown my faith. I became part of the family and made some true friends. The church encourages you to be yourself and to use your God given skills for the benefit of the church and the larger community. In my case, I got involved with the flower arranging team, but there are also the opportunities to help with the children’s work and the worship. I miss the loving welcome they give on a Sunday morning but I know I will be back to visit soon.
