Winchester Baptist Church has a variety of rooms which are available for hire. These range from small rooms suitable for meetings of 20 or 30 people to two more spacious rooms that can be used for concerts, parties and larger gatherings.
The Sanctuary
With a seating capacity of up to 200 people and the provision of a Yamaha grand piano and an organ, the Sanctuary is a great venue for weddings and other functions including music concerts and rehearsals. ABRSM find the Sanctuary an ideal venue for their music exams. An amplification and loop system for those with hearing difficulties can be made available on request.
The Link
The old church foyer and lounge are currently being refurbished to create a space called ’The Link’. This is an ongoing project but you are invited to view the space to see if it will suit your purposes. ‘The Link’ is accessible from the main entrance on City Road. There is an accessible toilet and this will shortly be joined by a Ladies and Gents. The Link will have small kitchenette and serving area.
The Youth Room
Ideal for informal meetings, the Youth Room, with a seating capacity of 20, is situated at the top of the building. There is relaxed, sofa style seating and a wall mounted flat screen TV, which be used as display screen for power point presentations. There is also a white board and flip chart.
The Hall
This is a large, light room with a seating capacity of 120. It is ideal for conferences, children’s groups, parties and other social events. Winchester Well-being use the hall for their lunch club and a local business regularly uses it for staff training sessions. An amplification and loop system for those with hearing difficulties can be made available on request. Attached to the Hall is a fully equipped kitchen providing the following facilities: catering cooker, wall mounted boiler for instant hot drinks and a 3 minute cycle dishwasher.
The Tweedley Room
The Tweedley Room can be divided into two smaller rooms if required or used as a good sized meeting room for up to 30 people. It has a TV with integral DVD player, flip chart and white board.
Accessibility and Booking
All rooms are easily accessible from either the Church’s City Road or Swan Lane Entrance and all except the Youth Room have wheelchair access. As a city centre church we have limited parking. However there are a number of public car parks very close by.
