What we do…
Silver Service
Our Silver Service is on the first Thursday of each month in our Church hall, starting at 1.30pm. We sing traditional hymns as well as a few that are more modern. We pray together and have a few short Bible readings. The Silver Service also follows the yearly calendar with Easter, Harvest, Remembrance and Christmas themes, and there is a short talk, which reflects on these. The service is followed by tea, cakes, and the opportunity to chat and perhaps pray with someone from the team.
Bible Study
Our Bible Study is on the third Thursday of each month in the Tweedley Room, starting at 1.30pm. Currently, we are studying the Book of Genesis. Each month we read a chapter together and then talk about it. No prior knowledge is needed, and no preparation is required. There are no lectures, notes or homework! Just come with an open mind and an open heart as we explore this amazing book together. All are welcome.
Visiting Matilda Place
Matilda Place provides ‘Extra Care Sheltered Housing’ in Gordon Road in central Winchester, and offers support to those living with dementia. A small group from church visit there bi-monthly, to lead a short service and enjoy the company of the residents over tea and cake. This visit is a highlight for us.
holiday at home
Every August we run a Holiday at Home for our church and community seniors in our church hall. These are fun packed with entertainment, quizzes, songs, games and a lunch or afternoon tea.
